I've heard that Darren Aronofsky is kind of a jerk, but "The Wrestler" is an amazing work of art to me. Should you let film makers' attitudes/personalities effect how you perceive their work? I love Tarantino's films, but I never want to meet him (for fear that we become best friends). Please expound.

Only watch Bebop anime, stay away from horrible live action. I like Chevy Chase, his attitude does not bother me at all. in fact makes his movies better, shows what a great actor he is.

Oh, you'll have a blast with Cowboy Bebop. Watch the movie too! It's sometimes called Cowboy Bebop: the Movie or Cowboy Bebop: Knockin' on Heaven's Door. But yeah, it's well known as having one of the best anime soundtracks ever.

I saw _American Flyers_ back in the mid-80s and found it reasonably enjoyable-- Kevin Costner (before his ego inflated) and David Marshall Grant compete in the Hell of the West bicycle race, with Rae Dawn Chong as Costner's sassy girlfriend. I guess it's PG-13 by virtue of Grant's penis being only briefly visible when he undresses after a ride past St. Louis landmarks. That was another highlight, since I had only recently moved from there, and not that many movies are actually shot in the city. I've got the same DVD.

Dang! That Cowboy Bebop vinyl is pure gold. Definitely watch the show when you can. Yoko Kanno is one of my fav anime composers and The Seatbelts are a great band. The live action is definitely worth a watch. They make a few unexpected character changes but the likeness from the show to live action is truly amazing. It's another unfortunate victim to the Netflix phenomenon of being dropped after the first season.

I'd say to start with 39 Steps, then Lady Vanishes, then move through the rest of the oeuvre. Skip Under Capricorn, the comedies, skip Marne and the last films. I'd say finish with Psycho which I think is his best. After that watch Lodger & Blackmail if you like.

I commented last video on how Dane is really goddamn funny. I mean, he's so funny that if funny was a fossil fuel, we'd be devoid of all safeties and we'd be swimming in glacier by now. Just sayin'.
